Cameron Sun embraces a new power that he's been running away from and travels through the shadows of the city...literally. But every power comes with a consequence. This upsets the city, and it doesn't like City Boy very much. Does he have a choice to stay here any longer, or will he be forced leave to a  safer place...like Lexcorp?

But Why Tho? - William J. Jackson

    Jun 27, 2023

City Boy #2 continues to demonstrate the strengths of the series through the nods to anime, the struggle Cameron is going through, and the intimidating stakes at play. City Boy is unleashed this time, and that sort of power attracts attention. And boy, does he get it big time by the end. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez

City Boy #2 is a thrilling, action-packed, dramatic second entry in the series, pushing it head and shoulders over any other new title from DC at the moment. Pak's writing develops Cameron's character and gives him plenty of opportunity to let loose, albeit recklessly, and the stakes are potentially massive. Read Full Review

City Boy should definitely be on your "must read" list. Superman may be the most powerful man in Metropolis, but that doesn't mean he is the most interesting. Pak, Jung, and Gho should be proud of their work on this issue, and you should be excited to read it. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

There is so much potential for exploring Cameron's powers on every level, from individual people to neighborhoods to aspects of infrastructure. In the first couple of issues of the series, Pak is exploring City Boys power in more of a traditional superhero story. Cameron is different enough from other superheroes that it will take a while to really settle into the kind of story he has the potential for. Hopefully, people stick around long enough for the premise to embrace its originality. Read Full Review

This is a great issue. It really is building up to his hero moment, but also paints that this guy is not going to be an all rainbows hero. Considering he channels the city and you know if you consider what mostly occurs in inner cities, suffering, abuse, neglect ect. He really fighting against the urge to go brutal and they author shows this. Enjoyable read. Still say this guy needs a new hero name. Maybe by the end of the mini-series he will rename himself to show the change in character. That would be cool.

Love a lot what it's doing. Wish the story had a TON more room to breath but with comics... sometimes you don't get all the space you desire. At the very least, there's a ton of interesting, engaging plot.

This issue was not as good as the last one. However, the ending was just as thrilling as the ending of the previous issue. I'm now more eager for the upcoming issue as a result. I am looking forward to find out what happens next.
