There aren't enough people reading this book, and that's honestly a shame. I full believe that when this arc is finished, it will go down as one of the greatest Catwoman arcs of all time. Overall, what the new creative team has given us is a mysterious, multilayered, and human Selina Kyle. Add this to the story and side characters and this is the best issue of Catwoman in the New 52 run. Catwoman #37 is another great issue.  Actually, this one is even better.  Genevieve Valentine shows us that if Selina isn't careful, she will lose more than her family business.  The story combined with Gary Brown's art make this one of the best crime dramas on the shelf today.  Strike that, Catwoman has risen from the ashes and is suddenly one of the best comics, period. Garry Browns art is growing more consistent with each passing issue as finds his rhythm. Catwoman #37 channels plenty of dark imagery and emotion. His story telling is quiet and economical. Brown shows restraint, which makes a more interesting reading experience. Read Full Review

The visual style here is complete and detailed, though in a fairly spartan aesthetic. Lee Loughridge's colors have a soft focus, with simple backgrounds of pea green and pale orchid casting shadows on characters' faces. Jae Lee's cover is fantastic, particularly Selina's claws, but it might be misleading: Selina does not in fact fight Black Mask. This is a slower moving issue, but with thoughtful unpacking of Selina and Antonia. Read Full Review

Genevieve Valentine has managed to take the superheroics out of a superhero book and still make it compelling, which is no easy task. Catwoman might be more akin to The Sopranos, which allows it to carve out an interesting space in the Bat publishing line. Read Full Review

I missed a few issues of Catwoman and as a result I was very confused reading this. I recommend readers that are newer to the series to jump back a few issues, so that this will make more sense. I did enjoy that Selina is still very grey, very dark grey but not black and white. Its one of the reasons a lot of readers enjoy Catwoman, having that rock and a hard place moments is something we can all associate with. Read Full Review

Perfect, one of the best comics I've read this year. The story takes a shocking -and heartbreaking- turn, which proves what a smart, surprising and gutsy comic this has become (I never though Selina would allow it to happen). At this point the war between Black Mask and Selina is a test of will and intellect and strategy. But the whole book is a chess match for our anti-heroine, from managing the family to dealing with the cops. The quality of the writing on this thing staggers my mind. I’m so impressed with the structure, the language and the plotting. The art continues to be gritty and street level, while still offering elegance when Selina is front and center.

I know it was you Fredo, you broke my heart... Well looks like Selina crosses the point of no return by ordering someone in the family to get whacked but she is very hesitant. Black Mask looks like he be brewing up a gang war in Batman's town which will put Selina in the middle. The story is quite mafioso godfatherish still with just a splash of Catwoman. Honestly they shoulda renamed the Catwoman book as Selina similar to what they did to Nightwing/Grayson because even though it's the same character, it's a completely different angle. However, I am thankful that for 3 straight months, Catwoman is a fantastic book rather than one I'd line the cat litter box with.
