Sep 27, 2012I'm going to miss this comic. As written by J. T. Krul, and drawn by Freddie E. Williams II, Captain Atom may not fit well in the still rather small New 52 DCU (honestly, I can't see DC trying to stick the character in another comic), but the comic consistently presented the world and actions of a super-hero from an entirely different perspective. I'm not going to lie, I'm a saddened that the new DCU isn't a big enough place for a character, and comic, like this to thrive. Worth a look. Read Full Review

Sep 19, 2012I'm not quite sure why this story needed telling. We had already been clued in to the basics of Captain Atom's origin, and the new details didn't receive enough exploration to make them worth mentioning. There's a frantic energy about Krul's and Williams' work that suggests that they are enthusiastic about telling more storieswith this character. Unfortunately, there's also a lack of coherence and direction. Your money is best spent elsewhere. Read Full Review

Sep 19, 2012It's too bad after last month's issue that "Captain Atom" #0 is wrapping up the series with such a whimper. The series was all over the place but it was at least going somewhere, and I wouldn't have been surprised if this issue had acted as an epilogue as well as prologue, perhaps with some sort of ouroboros effect that would have fit in well with what Krul had written. Still, the book looks great, if nothing else, but I think stopping one issue earlier would have been a slightly more dramatic final note. Read Full Review

Sep 25, 2012If you've been reading Captain Atom, I can't imagine this issue gives you any new information and certainly no satisfying conclusion. If you haven't been reading Captain Atom, this issue gives you no reason to want to read more. I give Captain Atom #0 one and a half stars""It's not the worst comic I've read recently, but one of the least compelling. Read Full Review
