Bizarre deaths have been occurring throughout Gotham City, but the perpetrator is unknown. Even when the crimes have been committed in view of witnesses, all that is seen is a glimpse of a weird, skinless meat-man who seems to fade away after the crimes.

Ultimately this comic book has a niche audience. Those that collect every single Batman comic will be picking this one up. As will fans of the creative team and fans of the 1990s comic book stories. However, this story sets up an interesting story that could have done just fine in the regular Batman titles if Bruce Wayne were still around. It's definitely worth checking out if you have some wiggle room in your budget. Read Full Review

All-in-all, this was a smooth read. A bit slow at first but I would recommend it. Its not the greatest thing youll read this week, but its definitely something you wont regret picking up. Its nice to have the opportunity to get a laugh at the Dark Knights expense. Read Full Review

Taken as your standard Batman fare,Batman: Unseen is a decent detective story made ridiculous by overcooked dialogue and bizarre visuals. But taken less seriously, the book manages to feel entertaining-fun, even. Moench's detective story is actually pretty good, as is Jones' Gotham and Black Mask, and the poetry and silly poses add a humorous self-awareness that made this stodgy Bat-fan smile. Under far different circumstances, I could see this story working well enough. As an extended one-shot, with an increased focus on Batman, there might have been potential. Instead, what we have is a fairly uneventful first issue with a terrible new villain. I can't imagine this dragging on for another four issues. And unless Moench has a serious ace up his sleeve, I doubt I'll be sticking around that long anyway. Read Full Review
