Jul 27, 2017This is an amazing crossover series; I cannot express it enough. I've been craving depth and a witty team up with Batman, and the writers deliver. They've made a fascinating detecting series, with only a few supernatural moments. It's filled with humans, which is one of the most appealing aspects of Batman and crew. This evil exists in our world, whether in war or capitalism. Even if we can't fight alongside them, it's cathartic to see villains go down at the same time providing us with symbolic realism as the heroes still suffer because no victory is without suffering. There are only a few more issues to go, I cannot wait, and at the same time, I need savor each issue as I'll miss it once it's over. It's a must have for the collection! Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - John White
Jul 26, 2017Steve Orlando and Scott Snyder continue to write a powerful story that pays homage to the greatness of the pulp age hero without feeling too dated. Their Shadow is still a man straight out of the 1930’s. He has no sense of the moral high ground. To him the world is simply good or evil and it is his responsibility to destroy evil. While Batman tries to be Gotham’s savior, the Shadow would rather just be its punisher. Their complex and intriguing story combine with Riley Rossmo’s beautiful art brings excitement to every page in this book. With only two issues left, I don’t expect them to slow down any time soon. Weird Science - Jeremy Daw
Jul 27, 2017The story is well-paced, well-drawn and, on the whole, well-written. Four issues in, the creative team finally deliver on the implicit promise of the series' title and show us Batman and The Shadow in tandem and the subsequent fight, although not quite an unqualified success, doesn't disappoint. Several questions remain unanswered, which, after four issues, is as it should be. At the heart of the story, however, is an examination of who Batman is, what his values are and what the potential cost of those values might be. This series remains both intriguing and entertaining and there are far worse ways a comic fan might spend four bucks. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Brandon Mulholand
Jul 27, 2017I feel like this is Batman/The Shadow's first misstep. At the end of the day, it just feels too far removed from the previous issues. Those opening stories spent so much time establishing character, building the world, setting a mood, presenting a mystery, and examining intriguing concepts. Now that all the groundwork has been laid, is this issue indicative of what I can expect from the rest of the run? I hope this just ends up being a small hiccup in the larger narrative, and that the story veers back towards the elements I so adore. Read Full Review

Jul 26, 2017Idexpected the series to run four issues, and would have been happy with that. But it appears to be running six. More is better, but not if its more of thesuper-hero team-up clichs weve seen for several generations. Read Full Review
