Robertson delivers some great visuals throughout the story. There are some intense action beats in the plot and Robertson brings them to life with great detail and style. Read Full Review

Batman: The Fortress #2 is the kind of edgy DC Comics story you daydreamed about as a kid. It makes bold choices with characterization and the level of violence while setting up a situation where Batman is truly running out of options. It also continues to feel cinematic and may even be setting the stage for a Batman vs. Superman battle that makes a lot more sense than the film to boot. Read Full Review

This story is very clearly out of continuity, and that allows it to be highly unpredictable. The creative team has done more than enough to keep me hooked. Read Full Review

Whitta and Robertson are able to put together a strong follow-up issue to the introduction of Batman: Fortress, as the world struggles not just with the loss of Superman, but power as well. Read Full Review

After BATMAN: FORTRESS #1, I was really hoping for something good. And as I stated earlier, the potential was definitely cluttering each page. However, Whitta's dialogue and lack of convincing story beats coupled with Robertson's renderings and design made BATMAN: FORTRESS #2 quite unappealing. Readers get no answers, few reveals, and orchestrated conversations meant to add humor that ultimately pushed each character out of their norm and into an irrelevant and inconsistent story. Its too routine an approach now to seem fresh. Hopefully Whitta has some twists set as this mini-series is on the verge of feeling like just another Batman saves the day story. Read Full Review

Batman: Fortress #2 tells a good story in an extremely off-putting way, in fact, only the art has saved this issue from receiving a terrible score. In my opinion, Darick Robertson and Diego Rodriguez are carrying the book. Read Full Review

"Then let's do this. Together." A story based on courage, sacrifice, fearlessness, and heroes and heroines. A story from a time when our heroes and heroines WERE heroes and heroines. Some comics reviewers might not recognize it because it may be out of step with post-modern comics anti-heroism. https://twitter.com/usa_bats/status/1541800263241142272 Some reviewers bemoan the idea that this story may revert to "Batman saving the world," which we don't know at all... but if that were true, so? Isn't that what we WANT our heroes to do? Here we have the JLA - not killers, not psychotic child-murderers, not criminals - but heroes and heroines fighting against a threat to Earth itself, in a period reminiscent to a Justice Society of Am more

This writer really does not understand The Flash, both personality nor powers. Superman is still being missing for "reasons" just seems like a lazy cop-out. Cyborg dies from having his cybernetic body cut in half? This writer really didn't do any research before writing these characters. The family at the end being completely cool with a bunch of strange extraterrestrials just waltzing into their home was extremely contrived. The multitude of so many Batman books out there, this one really does nothing to justify it's existence.
