I thought it was funny that Simon got the solution to escaping the Manhunter dimension from the reference to Jean-Paul Sartre's Huis-Clos by Emily.
In the books, the characters are in hell forced to torture each other because each one of them made the other two miserable but at the same time they can't get rid of them. One of the character is narcissist and since the room where they are stuck has no mirror, to see herself she can only use the eyes of one of his cell companion/abuser.
Also this issue confirm my suspicion that the fact that [Man] is always in brackets means something. Maybe it is calibrated that way ? Maybe [Man] has another connotation than the one they brainstormed about ? -
