Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin #3

I don’t even care if you read the first two issues or not, you should buy this issue. You should probably buy them all, but if you have to pick, start somewhere. If you’ve ever remotely liked or enjoyed Star Wars you should check this series out. I’ve been burnt out on this franchise for a long time now, but a series like this is quick to remind me why I liked it in the first place. Issue #3 continues a very intriguing book, with Vader in a temple that you just have to read about and see for yourself. Its not hard to ignore the clunky script, since several pages are entirely silent, so soak in the narrative art and enjoy! Read Full Review

Expanded universe tales are open to a lot of scrutiny because of their lack of “Star Wars feel” but if you look at this as a Darth Vader story, you should have no problem enjoying your trip to the Dark Side. Read Full Review

It's hard to give this book a lower grade when the artwork and overarching story are so interesting, but much like film, comics can't just be images. A story needs to be told, and while, yes, a picture is worth a thousand words, there should be a balance struck. More than likely this series will be phenomenal collected, but as single issues go this one goes by way too fast. Read Full Review

This mini-series is turning out to be a very forgettable read. I hope it can turn it around in the last two issues but as of now we are not getting anything worthy of Darth Vader. It also doesn't help that the cover has absolutely nothing to do with the issue's contents. There is a lot wrong with this book. Perhaps you will find something to like within it. Read Full Review
