  It wouldn't be Dark Horse Presents without something familiar, and Aliens is that series included. While it seems like a side story, it is one that you would read just because you know how intense Alien stories can be. Aliens: Field Report jumps into the action quickly throwing soldiers into the fray who weren't exactly prepared for what they would encounter like most, and you take interest in how they handle themselves in this situation. Aside from this it's great to see that Ripley is not a forgotten character in this war with the aliens. Whatever comes with Aliens: Fire and Stone, this was a good way of building up to the release of that series. Read Full Review

  As with many anthologies, Dark Horse Presents #2 is a mixed bag, but it manages to rise above the sum of its parts. The worst of these short stories is merely average, and there are a few moments of hilarity and real beauty found within. It's also worth noting that the $4.99 price tag gets you 48 pages of content, compared to the 28 pages found within the similarly priced Superior Spider-Man #33 this week. Read Full Review

  In the end, "Dark Horse Presents" #2 doesn't have a single dud, which is a relief. I wish more of the stories were memorable, but in some ways I think that's the one downside to the lower page count; at 80 pages, you had a lot more room for editorial to experiment and try some crazy things out to see what worked. Still, it's a nice read, and you're getting your money's worth. It's good to have "Dark Horse Presents" back on the stands, and after all, one of the best things about anthologies is that if you don't like everything in one issue... just wait until next month and you're guaranteed a different mix.
