Aliens: Rescue #1

Aliens: Rescue #1 is a solid start to this story arch. It establishes Brand as a character all his own while still acknowledging his past. The writing and artwork definitely draw you in and leave you with just enough information to want to come back to see what happens next. The only minor disappointing thing about Aliens: Rescue #1 is that it does take it's time to get to the root of the story but it is well worth the wait. Read Full Review

A solid start to this new chapter, and gave us plenty to look forward to as Alec Brand sets off to find his heroes. Aliens: Rescue #1 gets you asking a lot of questions, and that's never a bad thing with these stories. Especially when this has been an ongoing story since the events of Aliens: Defiance. Overall, this is a solid first issue for the new series. We haven't seen much by way of characters, but the one we follow has potential. The art is strong and helps keep this series feeling close to it's 80's/90's era roots. If you're a fan of the Aliens film and comics series then Aliens: Rescue #1 will be a good fit for you. This is a decent start to the series, though the heroes and title creatures are only in photos and one flashback. Wood is setting the stage for the action of the upcoming issues. The visuals are typical comic book fare: they look fine, but don't have the awesomeness of previous Alien comics.
