Nov 13, 2013It's a cool comic, but again, absolutely nothing new is brought to the Mignola-verse. Same monsters (except the zombie), and same Abe trying to find his way. Same characters who are barely introduced die, and I still don't feel any pain at the loss. I just met them and they didn't make much of an impression. It's not a bad issue, but it seems like so much that has come before. So, worth a read, but don't expect any huge revelations. If you're down to watch some people shoot monsters, and to see Abe kick some ass, then by all means, have at. Read Full Review

Weekly Comic Book Review - Hugo Robberts Lariviere
Nov 18, 2013A really good issue art wise, yet there are some missteps in terms of development of story and character that set it down a notch in terms of storytelling. An adequate issue, but certainly not the strongest one in the series. Read Full Review

Nov 13, 2013So far, I like Abe Sapien, but it's mostly just Abe wandering around "trying to figure things out". I don't really know how much longer this creative team can keep that interesting. I can tell that these events are eventually going to lead up to something that will kick our butts, but I'm getting a little restless here. I'm always blown away every time each one of Mignola's series reaches its climax, but I guess I've grown a little more paranoid as I read more. I've been disappointed by "sure things" one too many times. However, even though I have yet to be disappointed by anything that Mike Mignola has attached to his name, I am still hesitant to sing the praises just yet. Read Full Review

Front Towards Gamer - Lido
Nov 11, 2013In the end this whole review comes down to the matter of the story's ideas and attitude, and that attitude comes off as petulant more then anything else. This isn't the anger of someone who wants to see legitimate change or the passion of someone whose trying to send a cautionary message to the future, it's the ranting of someone whose tired of caring and tired of waiting, and would rather see the world destroyed then keep trying to fix it. Again, maybe that would be enough if it was in some other medium or if the writing and characters were more then just puppets to hold up the plot or if the story was more self aware of its own view points but Abe Sapien #7is none of those things, it's just a bad comic that I don't recommend.
