Venus #2

This book is beyond fast paced. The issue is over before it really gets going and I like that. It keeps the danger real and the story moving along. I actually really like this book and if it can somehow top its cliffhanger from this issue" well, it might just move into the top spot on my mini-series list. It's only four issues and so far two of them have been pretty damn great so give it a read. Let it surprise you. Read Full Review

Venus #2 is the beginning of an impressive turnaround for a series that started out rocky. The character work is orders of magnitude better than in issue #1 and the plot thankfully diverges from the most clich of sci-fi tropes, although that does occasionally still lead to some baffling decisions. The pencils and colors are leagues ahead of what was previously presented, too. It's great to see that unlike with the Mayflower, the early damage to the good ship Venus was not irreparable. Venus has an interesting setting but is otherwise unremarkable from either a plot, characterization or artwork point of view. Im willing to check out the next edition to see what happens, but Im not exactly counting the days Read Full Review

I don't think a professional crew of scientists and military would have time for the quips and jokes as they supposedly battle to save their habitat, and there seems little urgency to do this before their oxygen runs out. However, it's fairly entertaining and ends on a massive cliffhanger.
