Apr 03, 2019This rendition of the Jim Henson's story is a beautiful, yet minimalist, retelling of a classic tale layered with meaning. The backdrop of an ancient port city and a fisherman searching for fulfillment outside of his family, is haunting and timeless because of the messaging. It speaks of the danger associated with greed while overlooking the blessings that might be hidden right in front of our faces. I highly recommend this book for stories and not a few grown men. Apr 03, 2019Overall, I enjoyed Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Sirens #1.As I read it I was able to bask in the warmth of the nostalgia for something I loved. It didn't manage to reclaim the full magic of the series it is named after, but it still provides an entertaining and thoughtful experience. Fans of the original series should still read this, as well as anyone who likes a good, old-fashioned fairy tale. Read Full Review
