  Cloaks #2 is a solid issue that shows a decent amount of progression as Adam reluctantly agrees to join the ranks of the CLOAKS black-ops organization and is immediately thrown into his first mission. The threat is established, we have our character moment between Adam and Blockstone, while we are given more questions to ponder as there's more to this than meets the eye. Read Full Review

  Cloaks #2 is the halfway point of the miniseries. The series has been fun and clever and has all the creatives working together seamlessly. The magic here is more tangible than in Unwritten or Books of Magic with an underlying spy story that a lot of people look for in indie comic books. Check it out. Read Full Review

  In the end that is the failing of this issue and likely of the series, that way too much is being attempted in far too little time. This series would have benefited from either going for a smaller concept, or simply more issues. As it is, there is nothing inherently wrong with the plot, the characters or the artwork, only that it feels too crammed together. Read Full Review

  I enjoyed this issue as much as I did the first. Sure, the first had all the magical wonder and splendid fast-paced glittery intrigue, but this second issue was the substance that will provide for a longer story arch and make this all worth while. Navarros art is exactly as it was in the previous issue with solid character designs and some grounded use of the camera to keep us in focus of a more realistic story. Read Full Review
