The plot reads like a spec script for an action movie, specifically the part where the protagonist fills us in on the minimum backstory required to justify the fight scenes. The artwork remains strong but offers fewer opportunities for Bermejo to play with different styles, making it less exciting than the previous issue, if not any less skillfully done. Really, really cool premise. Two people locked in time together, neither one of them can kill the other but they are mortal adversaries, every time they kill another human being they get catapulted to a different time and place. The backstory was really helpful, my only gripe is that it took up the majority of the issue and now there's only one left. Hopefully Tomlin is able to tie everything up neatly in the final issue. Bermejo's art continues to be indescribably beautiful.

It was a while since issue one. I can't say I rememberd everything, but this issue did a wonderful job of telling its story. It's quick, but it keeps you invested.
