Big Comic Page - Mark Scott

I think that only John Lees could possibly have got me excited about a wrestling comic, but this first issue has me completely hooked. Its thrilling, its tense, its horrific, and I genuinely couldnt have asked for more. Lees knows both his bard and his squared circle and Frenzy is both a tragic and inspirational character and like Macbeth, the real architect of the saga is our very own Lady Macbeth Sharlene. Dec 08, 2021The idea of a pre-determined destiny playing out in a pre-determined sport is an interesting concept. That's what the elements of Macbeth brings to The Crimson Cage #1 but that juxtaposition isn't focused on enough in the debut. Instead, it feels like a normal story of greed with some supernatural elements that don't quite fit. There's something really close to being a hell of a read here but it dances around either its more interesting aspects or dives into them without much need for them. Read Full Review

Fun Fun comic! I was never into wrestling, but this comic made me really buy into it and it made me forget that wrestling is all a show! The comic does a great job at looking behind the curtain and also making you suspend disbelief. I enjoy the Macbeth retelling, its cleverly done in a modern way, and the art is also very well done! Horror without being horror.
