AIPT - Jordan Richards
Oct 29, 2014Sonic Boom #1 was a surprising and enjoyable first outing for this series, hopefully indicating good things for the upcoming video games and TV series. It's rather accessible, the story and humor were a lot of fun, the writing was solid, and the artwork was enjoyable and really brought a lot of personality to the series. Even as a person who's not big into Sonic that much, I had a good time with this and I feel that fans, newcomers, and youngins alike can equally get something out of this. Definitely worth a look. The story isn't for everyone since this is aimed more towards fans of Sonic games and Sonic Boom show who also happen to be casual readers of comics. Oct 29, 2014As a story in itself, Sonic BOOM #1 is not going to appeal to adults and kids equally, the way an issue of Adventure Time does, but it is a great gateway book for youngsters to a whole host of things their parents have enjoyed cartoons, comics, and video games. The script will make them laugh, the art will keep them excited, and the twist ending will make them gasp. What could be better than that? Read Full Review

Oct 29, 2014Evan Stanley brings a clean, expressive look to the series that is very much in keeping with the aesthetic of the games. At this point Archie has the look of the Sonic games down pat with their various comic adaptations, so there's little to complain about apart from the goofy, pseudo-hipster character designs. Sonic's scarf is ridiculous (a fact the characters at least acknowledge in the short backup strip) and Knuckles looks like he's occupying an oversized costume of himself. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Neil Rodriguez
