Afterlife With Archie is absolutely an exceptional series that only comes around every so often. This series gets better with every issue and that keeps readers interested and keeps them coming back. This series has gone beyond expectations and is just delivering both an attractive and shocking story. Thank you both Roberto and Francesco for delivering such a tremendous story. Read Full Review

AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE has become a book I look forward to each month. It's hard to imagine this being an ongoing series but that makes it all the better. Archie Comics took a big risk with crossing over the beloved characters with such a dark and deadly tone. That risk is paying off in a big way. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Francesco Francavilla are doing a remarkable thing. The Archie characters have never felt so alive despite the fact that characters are actually getting killed. This isn't the Archie Comic you're used to. This isn't a cheap zombie gimmick. AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE has a great story with character development and superb art that will give you chills. And for the art, well, Francesco Francavilla's art is too good for mere words to describe. His characters' expressions were all top-notch this time and all the scenes he does with the infected people were really good once again again. I wish I could get posters made out of every page! This is an amazing comic series that should be on everyone's buy list. It was one of the best debuts of 2013 and I expect it to be a contender for one of the best series of 2014. Read Full Review

Speaking of Horror stories, as withthe last issue, there is another black and white tale for those who are up for more horror. . This one is called 'Horripilate Host' by Dick Giordano. This story is about Sedgewick a host for a television series that airs horror films called Creature Features. He is visited by a former employee who wants revenge on him by using a demonic spell. Unlike the last issue this reprint actually feels far scarier than the last one. The designs are really creepy, from Sedgwick to the guy who wants revenge which works in this. The story is short and corny, but it does that sense of supernatural horror which doesn't ruin the comic but makes this comic even better. Read Full Review

Afterlife with Archie sounds like it shouldn't work. Zombies in Riverdale? Beloved characters dead? However, the writing, the characterizations and the art form a very entertaining story that reads well and seems to fit in line with a regular Archie story. Granted, it's darker but it doesn't overwhelm with horror elements. This is a pleasant surprise. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Matt Little

For all of the odd ingredients that go in to the bouillabaisse that is this comic book it works. If you enjoy horror tales but are disillusioned by the constant grim pallor that hangs over most zombie comics I highly suggest you give this book a try. It is clear that the idea is in very capable hands and that everyone involved is having a blast. Don't pass by this book any longer. Read Full Review
