Jan 01, 2014My gripes, though few, involve what I mentioned in this reviews first paragraph: it isnt particularly imaginative considering the current trends in pop culture, particularly on television. Now, just because Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and other like products have managed to turn fantasy and horror staples into mainstream forms of entertainment fit for weekly mass consumption, that doesnt mean they have the market cornered on such stuff, and The Black Hand deserves a shot at spinning a new yarn without it getting tangled in other creators needlework. Bounding Into Comics - John F. Trent
Dec 31, 2015The Black Hand has good intentions behind it, but it fails to execute everything it wants to do. It struggles to develop its villain and adds in unnecessary scenes to characterize Victoria. It does do a good job of making Victoria a compelling protagonist and Maese's character designs, especially the Black Hand outfits, are elegant but also pragmatic. I'd recommend passing on this one; there are much better supernatural fantasies out there. Read Full Review
