Graphic Policy - Alex K Cossa
Jul 08, 2017Honestly, this wasn't my favourite of Alterna's newsprint comics. It was good, and I did quite enjoy it, but it didn't grab me the same way as other comics in the newsprint line - though that should be taken more as a compliment to the overall quality of the newsprint product than a knock on this issue. At the end of the day, this is a solid buy for $1.50, and one that I highly recommend you checking out for at least an issue or two. Read Full Review

Bleeding Cool - Joshua Davison
Jul 08, 2017Scrimshaw #1 does have some neat ideas. The flooded world and carved-up nations are a decent setting for an apocalypse. Throwing in pirates and samurai is pretty neat. The fact that it wears its inspirations on its sleeve isnt even a bad thing; it just really needed to ease the reader in to its crazy world instead of throwing them into the deep end with nary a hint at how to navigate the waters.
