  Bounding Into Comics - Jorge Arena

  Being a fan of both Sci Fi and Horror reading Corktown #1 was pretty fun. It's an interesting modern vampire story, that had me hooked. It's easy to get into, and it's just as easy to be sitting there wondering all the hows and whys with what's going on. If you enjoy comics dealing with the supernatural, then I suggest you give Corktown #1 a read. Read Full Review

  Corktown has a great hook that grabs you early on.  A ghost cop is trying to stop her vampire corpse from killing people.  It presents a slew of possibilities, each of which comes with its own set of questions that I can't wait to see explored further. Read Full Review

  Comic Bastards - Dustin Cabeal

  The twists of the story really grabbed my attention and made me want to read more. Like I said, it's an interesting twist on the genre, but really it's an interesting twist on a few genres. The story isn't perfect, there's some exposition that could be better, the art struggles at times and doesn't make full use of the black and white medium, but none of that stopped me from really enjoying this book. The premise really got it's hooks into me and made me put everything I've listed with this review to the corner and I was able to enjoy what I was reading.   Ultimately, Corktown #1 is valuable as an example of how not to do a comic. Ill give it an extra star because of Candelarias writing (and for Detroit), but theres no reason Alterna comics should print a second issue. Read Full Review
