  If you couldn't tell,Strayer#1 comes highly recommended from me. It's the type of comic that really deserves toexplode and get super popular, because of how exceptionally well crafted it is. Yes, all of this praise does come with the caveat that there's only a single issue out so far, but if it's indicative of the quality of the rest of the series, we're in for quite the ride.   I went into Strayer knowing nothing about it, which is a great part of the discovery process for me that I continue to enjoy. While there are familiar elements here to be sure in setup and the foundations of the world it's also open to a whole lot more like most post-apocalyptic tales are. Jordan's script is light but effective in really getting us our first look at these characters and this world and it's made more engaging through Gedeon's designs. Strayer himself has me intrigued in a way few lead male characters do since they tend to be far too familiar and uninteresting, but something about his personality and approach here coupled with his sense of humor just grabs me in all the right ways. Definitely a series I'm going to check back in on. Read Full Review

  Some of the art doesn't quite stand up to a lot of today's titles in terms of polish, but it does have it's charm, and the action sequences are fluidly expressive. Which is important, because it looks like we're in for a lot more action. Strayer doesn't seem to be a book that will change the way you look at life or alter your existence, but it promises to be one hell of an action story that is earnest, honest, and fun.   This series has started off in a pretty good way. The story, though not completely original, is engaging and insightful. Jordan is comfortable writing a series like this, so we can expect a lot of really good dialogue to come, and hopefully some twists and turns in between all that.   A story that's sure to keep you wanting more, STRAYER brings action and adventure to a world where all hope seems lost. The story is a bit tough to get into at first, but a quarter of the way through, things surely pick up. The artist on this comic is one that draws clearly and smoothly so that we get a good understanding of what's going on, even if the story may seem confusing at first. With art that will leave you begging for more, you won't want to miss out on this comic. Read Full Review

  Weekly Comic Book Review - Noah Sharma

  Strayer is off to a nice start, but not a great one. The characters and sensibility are wonderful and the art, while bipolar at times, is strong, however there's not a lot here to hook the reader yet. It's a good issue but one worries about it as an issue #1. Luckily, though Strayer features a slew of familiar concepts, there aren't a lot of big name comics trying to do what it is at the moment. Justin Jordan is clearly in his element, telling the kind of story that appeals to him and Juan Gedeon is a strong addition to the book. Strayer #1 doesn't do enough to grab the reader and is weighed down by a couple of awkward moments, but it's well produced and bursting with personality. I'll be back next month. Read Full Review
