You can't go wrong with vampires during WWII. Chip's turning is revealed as is how he ultimately beat Victor. The visuals were great and I would love to see Howell doing more in the 1940's. Victor's death is disgustingly cool. This is a book that every horror fan should have. Simply outstanding. Read Full Review

Save your comparisons to Garth Ennis Preacher. This series is only in its nascent term and has still found a way to say something all on its own. Whats more, is the effortless way it shifts between a small story and a sprawling epic. At only issue three, the lead is totally engaging, the story is completely enthralling, and the blood runs free. Raise a glass of crimson and toast to a brilliant, fresh, series. Read Full Review

But I like what Tim Seeley produces in general and I've been wowed by the couple of books of Corin Howell's that I've seen recently and that made it easy to get into. Read Full Review

Although it's lost a little momentum, Dark Red is still packed with some awesome vampire action. The issue is bookended by a scene from the present that's worth the price of admission, as it gives us an idea as to what we can expect next. This is going to get bigger and bloodier and I'm pumped about that. Now we're further invested in Chip and understand his actions a bit more, so I'm curious as to what he does now that his back is against the wall. Read Full Review
