Sep 21, 2021Ultimately then, it's safe to say that Cates, Brown and co. stick the landing with style here, wrapping their hellacious teenage pregnancy story up in truly satisfying fashion and bringing the story of Sadie Ritter full circle. Hopefully the fourth and final collected trade will follow shortly (along with one of AfterShock's suitably chunky omnibus editions, perhaps?) to give those readers who drifted away during the break a chance to experience the whole cracking narrative. It's kind of a shame that I didn't enjoy this finale as much as I thought I would. I think it has a lot to do with the extended delay between this last batch of issues and the ones before that. I'm sure if I went back and read all 20 issues in a sitting or two, I'd be more into this final issue. Cates doesn't usually falter on endings. This wasn't bad or anything, I just think it just lost its chance at an oomph of an ending due to the delays.
