    Herotaku - Frankie Rodriguez

    May 03, 2014

We got a strong start with a legend told to us by a dying tribe leader. And then we got an origin story of a young hero that already knows there is more to life than fighting super villains. I REALLY enjoyed this issue. Skyward's story was good and Midnight Tiger's was great. I am glad they put these two together for this. - See more at: http://herotaku.com/blog/1/entry-12027-fcbd-skywardmidnight-tiger-review/#sthash.9s8KhvLl.dpuf Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Jeremy Matcho

Ray-Anthony Height is on pencils for this little preview story and he does a great job. His pencils are very clean and clear and make the story more enjoyable. Fans will like how he ever so slightly tweaked Wolverines and Black Panthers costumes during an internet search in the issue. Heights style is similar to others that you have probably seen before, but it feels new in this book. As a duo and a free comic, this is worth reading. Action Lab comics dont really have a name recognized hero or anything like that, but they do put out some decent material that is worth a read when you can find it. So give this book and Action Lab a chance on Free Comic Book Day. Read Full Review

Anyways, for a straight forward but not too clumsy fantasy book Skyward looks like a good book, however, the Saturday Morning cartoon characters on the back page lead me to believe I don't have the full story here. Read Full Review

Florida Geek Scene - Peter Schmeiser

Free Comic Book day is all about first impressions, and unfortunately Midnight Tiger felt like a student project, so the free price tag felt like the price of admission. While the real world scenes had some genuine atmosphere to them, the Lion and hyena characters that are duking it out in the street looked like knock-off toys that would be found in the Dollar Store. Also, the protagonists dad is either a body builder, or he is drawn way too muscular. Between the designs and the 4-color coloring in the panels, this book just didnt have a look that would compel me to put it on my pull list. Read Full Review
