Art-wise, if the humans are a bit too "classic", the fairies are beautifully done, and Kyle Ritter is a genius with colours, the blue tones are perfect to capture the dark and mysterious atmosphere of this issue. The last panel, showing a French fairy sitting with a gargoyle, is fantastic.

This issue is to read with a fizzy drink and sweets for the sugar rush, and a Bikini Kill album to soundtrack the experience. A very fun one.

But it doesn't mean Jane is a rock of confidence, and that's the most interesting in Palmiotti's writing: Jane doubts. Even in the face of happiness (not hers, not yet), she has trouble thinking about happy endings, and thinking about who she really is. That's why bringing Fernandez back in this series is a smart move, not only for the reader, but because this is the only thing Jane has to keep her feet on the ground. Who knows who that girl might be if she's on her own.

She-Hulk #1 is a pretty strong first issue. Some might not enjoy the focus on law here, but it is a great way to introduce Jennifer Walters, her passion and skills to the audience, and it's a side of her that's not to be underestimated. The ending leads the way for a "villain/case of the month" kind of story, rather than an established arc yet, but let's give it time. I'm sure Charles Soule and his friends have a lot of tricks in the back of their heads already. And if not, it's always good to hang with She-Hulk.

I wish more publishers would publish such gems, and ONI does a great job with promoting alternative stories and arts that challenge your world for 24 pages. Bunker #2 might not be the easiest read of the week, but it's easily one of the most refreshing, mind-blowing and question-packed titles you'll read this month. Do yourself a favour, and pick this.
