This storyline for Sonic the Hedgehog is superb, and only contrasts even more strongly how weak the Sonic Universe series is. Nearly every character to appear in either series makes an appearance in this issue, whether with speaking parts or silent cameos. Fans of characters that haven't been around as much may love this issue just for that reason. Sonic himself is absent after the first third of the issue, but that doesn't seem to matter, as the action easily carries the rest of it.

The book is a quality addition to DeForge's portfolio of work, and also makes a great book to have on your shelf that you can pull out and glance through occasionally. It is something that will stick with you for a little while, and you will want friends to read it so you can talk to them about it. If you have enjoyed anything that Michael DeForge has created before, I definitely suggest reading it.
