The first issue of the new ongoing STEVEN UNIVERSE comic series is warm and stress-free. It might be filler, but it's got all of the feminist messages and humor of the regular series. Plus, it's always great to see Lapis and Peridot have some fun for once.

In IDW's PUNKS NOT DEAD #1, a troubled teen encounters the ghost of Sid Vicious. Punk rock collides with the modern era explosively. The characterization of Sid is excellent, and the themes and art work well. I'm excited to see where this goes.

In the fifth and final installment of FORCES OF DESTINY, we get a glimpse of the old life Rose Tico had with her older sister Paige. With vivid colors and a silly story, FORCES OF DESTINY: ROSE & PAIGE definitely comes off as a children's book. However, there's still a lot going on beneath the surface.

Steven and Amethyst take Peridot to the renaissance fair. Needless to say, shenanigans ensue. How can Peridot prove she's a powerful knight when everyone's treating her like a sweet little girl?
