By drawing on what we all loved about the original trilogy instead of trying to shake things up with new storytelling directions, Marvel have successfully begun a series which I believe has great potential. One could call it lazy, I mean, the first page and the first shot from A New Hope differ only in very small way, but I think that these nods to the past are precisely what fans will want. Cleverly done, very well written, brilliantly drawn, Im on board Marvel.

This was a fittingly fun end to a very entertaining series. When there are so many Sith Lords plotting, fighting and killing together, one will never be bored. Moreover, a competent script and dazzling art have made it a visual pleasure.

While the script is traditionally clunky (as per Star Wars regulations) there is some decent dialogue between Leia and Mon Mothma, who score some major points for feminism with their cool massacre of a palace guard using their fists and a pistol and an Imperial fleet with, you guessed it, a TRAP! Han and Luke to the rescue? Not today boys.

Star Wars #19

As this is a new arc within the series, si don't be afraid to dip in if you haven't followed the series. Issue 19 is a good read with a pacey story and the right mix of new ideas and nostalgia, emotional struggles and humour. I recommend it.

There are some good points to this issue, but overall I was sadly underwhelmed. Get it if you want story continuity for issue 21s release, otherwise, save your pennies.
