This issue is great and not because of my large bias to forgotten Archie characters. As it teaches that friendship is the best thing above all else, it's a fantastic issue for children. Love, acceptance, and tolerance are all things we must show to one another in this thing we call life. I couldn't have asked for a better issue.

Bravest Warriors is a fantastic cartoon and comic series created by Pendleton Ward of Adventure Time fame. Like Adventure Time, this series is about a group of humans and animals who live in what may be a post-apocalyptic world. Our rag tag group of heroes features humans, a bear, and a hybrid cat bug, known as CatBug.This special issue focuses on Impossibear, who may be the group's leader. We have five stories all by different writers and artists, but all are fantastic. Each story is only a few pages long, but written well enough where you get a feel for each character. They go on quick missions, save the world, or try to listen to music. No matter what they do, it's always humorous and a good quick read. My favorite story was 'Impossi-Bagel', in which Impossibear must save his bagel sandwich from hungry birds. The writing is fantastic. Marc Andreyko writes a pretty convincing 17 year old female. The art by Dave Acosta is detailed, gory, and nightmarish when it needs to be. This is a fantastic horror comic to add to your pile!

This issue seems to contain a slow bulid-up minus any tension. Jethro Morales is also a good artist, but some of his panels seem flat in this issue. His attention to detail on the close up shots of Deja, John, and every other character, are great. The background is almost non-existent, but that causes the reader to focus more on the characters. You should pick up this issue if you follow this series as a monthly title.

Some comic character deaths are hard to swallow. When Superman died in the 90's, it was a shock to fans everywhere. Since then we've witnessed the death of countless heroes"Captain America, Batman, Spider-Man, after a while you become numb to them and almost expect them. So when Archie Comics announced they would be killing off their title character, people actually listened and were genuinely shocked. To say my cellphone didn't blow up at the news would be an understatement.

This first issue is fantastic. The art is reminiscent of McCay’s original style, and the writing is just as good. It captures the spirit and imagination of the original strip in a way that’s both appealing to adults and kids. This series will, without a doubt, be a hit for IDW. Add this book to your pull list. It’s going to be a great adventure.

Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis really hit a home run with this series. It shows that women (especially younger women) can be a multitude of things such as smart, strong, funny, quick witted, and girly. Brooke Allen brings the girls alive through her art. Each girl is unique and different from the rest, showing that we all do come in all shapes, sizes and colors. This book is fantastic for young readers ages 6-12, and will surely draw in young female readers to comics!
