My only criticism of the book is that, as with all of Brubaker's issues of Captain America, it's difficult to say that this comic is a massively thrilling or dazzlingly impressive single issue in its own right. However, as a chapter of the overarching tale that Brubaker is telling, it works perfectly, juggling several subplots, providing moments of high tension and drama, and moving the long-running story into exciting new territory. The death of Captain America proved that Brubaker could sustain the title without the presence of Steve Rogers; on the strength of this issue, his replacement is going to be no less entertaining.
