This first volume of Oreimo: Kuroneko really wishes to make an impression with a character that is fun to explore. While its appeal may be limited to those who have followed its source material, there is definitely strong indications that it wants to be so much more. It's the beginning of a coming-of-age story that'll definitely have you rooting for Kuroneko, even if fate has other plans for her.
