With Batman #34 Gerry Duggan and Mateo Scalera have created a beautifully illustrated, tight detective story that reminded me of what I love about the character. This comic is the antithesis of what Synder has done with Batman for over a year now and is arguably better than all of "Zero Year". At least when I drop the title next month, the last Batman comic I buy for a while will have been a good one.

In Wildfire Hawkins and Seji are crafting an anxious story so grounded in reality and full of real world detail that I could actually picture these events happening. The fact that I don't need to try too hard to imagine this catastrophe makes this book chilling. I wasn't completely sold on this series with issue #1, but I am glad I stuck with it. Wildfire will definitely make my pull list.

I realize I haven't really reviewed this specific issues and have just heaped praise on the run. But that's because at this point I don't feel like I need to. If you haven't been reading this run of Daredevil by now then nothing I say will convince you should. These guys have proved it for over 40 issues now and it doesn't seem like they are slowing down. Buy this, read it, you wont be disappointed.

I will absolutely keep buying this book. The creative team is crushing it and I would not be surprised if this book makes a few "best of" lists. I can't wait to see what will happen next and am excited about the prospect of going much farther down into the murky depths of Elektra's mind.

Red City will absolutely make my pull list. It has aliens, political intrigue, gangsters, a hard boiled detective, hologram strippers and even a surly police captain. I am a sucker for detective and science fiction, and this book blends them both perfectly. Red City, like every crime story only has a few ways it can end, but that is not the point. What really matters is the journey, and I cant wait to see where Corey and Dos Santos take us.

Wildfire is not for everyone, and I am certain it wasn't meant to be. I am not blown away by it mainly because it doesn't have anything in it that I haven't seen before (not yet anyway). But I trust Matt Hawkins and I will keep buying this till at least the end of this story arc then see how I feel. I stuck with Matt Hawkins' other wordy, heavy on the science book Think Tank and it was well worth it. I just hope that Wildfire will add a little more fiction to their science.

Churillia's art is adequate, not great, neither helps not hurts the book. and moves the story along well. I wish that the Jack we see in the book was more like the one we see on the cover. Instead we get a very nondescript Saturday morning cartoon looking, square jawed figure that if I didn't know what I was reading, I wouldn't be able to identify as Jack Burton. The same can be said for Wang, Egg and Miao Yin all of whom also appear in the book. Besides that the art and coloring combine to give the book a silly and happy mo

Overall this book and the entire run thus far rules. Get it while you still can as these no doubt will increase in value once Daredevil hits Netflix.

Buy this book. Crime + Bendis + Marvel Icon= Must read. It has a great premise and few writers do crime stories as well as Brian Bendis.

Speaking of story, although this is not the most original premise in the history of comics, the creative team execute it really well. Miskiewicz especially has a great feel for pacing and character development. I feel I know the characters in this comic, which make me feel comfortable and invested in them. I want to know their story and although I think I know how the story it ends, I don't care. I want to see the journey.
