Southern Bastards #5 continues an enjoyable story, but nothing that ought leap to the top of one's pull list.

With a rather uninspired origin story, even fans of the series could probably pass on Southern Bastards #6.

Southern Bastards #7 has little to offer, and it will be interesting to see whether Jason Aaron (Wolverine, Thor: God of Thunder) can salvage the story arc in later issues.

In Tooth & Claw #1, Kurt Busiek introduces readers to a fantasy world with walking and talking canines. There is not much to engage readers in this initial issue.

Colourist Jordie Bellaire remains the highlight of the creative team, setting the mood for the series with an understated palette. Artist Benjamin Dewey clearly enjoys bringing these fantastic creatures to life and steps up to the plate when illustrating a lengthy action sequence late into the issue. Finally, Kurt Busiek (Astro City, Marvels) is slowly moving Tooth & Claw forward, but it has yet to prove to be an engaging story, nor to have any of the characters developed much. Perhaps, the introduction of the Grand Champion will move things forward positively in subsequent issues. The question is how many readers will stick around to find out.

Autumnlands: Tooth & Claw #3 continues to be the type of comic book envisioned by people who poke fun at people who read comic books.

An intriguing, eerie collaboration from the superstar team of Scott Snyder and Jock.

Wytches #2 is an eerie page-turner that offers many new questions and continues an enjoyable supernatural thrill ride.

Wytches #3 offers a slow installment to this brilliant and unsettling vision from Scott Snyder and Jock.

While the art and story seemed a bit hurried, Wytches remains a series that ought be on the pull list of fans of Scott Snyder's mainstream work, or any fan of horror comics.
