Although the tone of the books is quite different, I couldn't help but be reminded of Brian Michael Bendis' excellent run on Daredevil whilst reading this issue. Like Bendis, Fraction seems intent on dismantling his lead character completely, destroying his world and reducing him to his lowest ebb in order to show just what he's made of. In the process, the writer has made sure not to lose the essence of what makes Tony Stark so much fun to read about, channelling the current status quo of the Marvel Universe into a story that already looks as though it's going to be as defining for the character as the first arc of the title was. Excellent stuff.
