X-Men Origins: Gambit #1 |

I have to say that Mike Carey and David Yardin have done a superb job of bringing an origin story for Gambit off the page, and there really is something here for everyone – Gambit fan or not. If you have ever had any interest in Monsieur LeBeau, or wanted to know a bit more about his history, I really recommend that you go and pick up X-Men Origins: Gambit – you won’t be disappointed.

We Kill Monsters #1 |

We Kill Monsters stands strong on its own, yet subconsciously I can’t help feeling that it brings back everything I used to love about Buffy the Vampire Slayer when it was on TV – it has the humour, the monsters, the gripping characters and a story that I don’t want to end. This is great news, since I have now found something to fill that void that Buffy’s own Season 8 comics haven’t quite managed to do. Unfortunately, We Kill Monsters isn’t released until July 8th so in the meantime it looks like I’ll just have to hold my breath until issue #2.

Classic Marvel Animated Series on DVD #1 |

Spider-Man fans will be wanting to pick this up, I'm sure, but I'd recommend this to any fan of comic book action as the storylines are cool little nostalgic nods to popular runs on the series and the voice work and animation are both great. Perfect to add to your superhero collection!

Could it have been better? Undoubtedly. That being said it’s a good bash at a great story, with great imagery to enhance the already great words and therefore if you had an inkling to read the book, that makes it worth a look.

Doctor Who: Room with A Deja View #1 |

Dj Vu is well written, conveying to doctor and surrounding characters in enough depth that you can really feel they are feeling, but unfortunately, the story isnt really that enthralling. While having to flit around and read things backwards adds interest it just doesnt make up for whats already missing. I was really hoping that this would break the mould and change my opinion of TV to Comic adaptations, but for now it seems that will have to wait till another time.
