I’m still very into Babylon Cove’s story, although its characters are wearing a bit thin. I think there’s time in the last two issues for everything to come together, for especially Heather to have a full character arc, and I’m hoping that’s what we’ll see!

While Ben 10 #4 ends on a literal cliffhanger, that’s not what’s going to keep me reading. The relationships that are being established and developed between the Tennysons and the way Ben is learning to use the Omnitrix is what’s interesting, and this new situation they’ve been dropped into could yield a top-tier story.

The Deadman as a series still has a lot to say on a metaphysical level beyond mere body horror or gore, and is focused a lot on Boston’s contemplation of his situation, not in an obsessive way. I think the outcome of this arc could go a lot of ways, and will definitely involve some kind of temptation for Boston. I’m excited to see what the next issue brings!

Fort Psycho #1 is certainly attention grabbing, and does a good job of introducing a good number of characters while hinting at the coming conflict. I’m definitely looking forward to the next issue!

Halfway through the series and I’m not sure what to expect next; will Kara end up fighting the Lantern Corps? Will we ever get to Earth? I’m sticking around to find out but I’m no longer feeling as confident in the people in the driver’s seat.

While Terminals #1 is heavier on the gore than expected, it’s also aiming to give a fresh look at the superhero genre. I don’t think it’s headed for full deconstruction, but it feels like they’ve got something specific to say, and I’m looking forward to hearing them out as we watch Alessandra’s story unfold.

I find personified aspects of death and their assistants comforting, but something that could scare Death itself? That’s horror I can get behind, especially when there’s a dash of 4th wall breaking to relieve the tension.

Considering how carefully they’ve paced the first issue, I’m interested to see where the series will ultimately take Kara and Kal, especially as it has deviated so far already from the story that we’re familiar with. If the quality of this issue is anything to go by, there’s a lot to look forward to!

Destination Kill #1 is an exciting entry into a new sci-fi dystopia with a comedic flair and stunning visuals. I’m already looking forward to the next issue, ready to find out what Gina Serene discovers next!
