The details were everything in this issue from the bankrupt conglomerate, to the stuck up comic book men and the pressures put on Rocko at every turn. This is not something new, we've been watching Rocko get kicked around by life from inception. Bringing Rocko into today's modern world is a intelligent move. At a time when class disparities are at an all time high and it's evident now more than ever how society makes it impossible for some to get ahead. It is so timely that we have a cartoon shining a light on reality this way. It even leaves us on a cliffhanger with Rocko being propositioned a deal. I'd recommend this to any cartoon loving comic book reader, or just cartoon lovers in general.

The characters are interestingly wrote with the jock trope as the bully and the main character as slacker at the bully's mercy. As diversity goes, it's nice to see brown characters taking a featured spot in the storyline and I am curious how these characters will push the envelope going forward. It really seems like they are setting up a journey for these characters that forces them to band together to overcome whatever danger may be coming. Although the backstory was abundant, the cliffhanger at the end really got me wanting to know what is really going on with Connor and what has befallen him?

The comic does a good job of pulling you in with the cinematic styled visuals and form of storytelling, with a solid foundation. Having a black character with their own spin off series is always exciting. Michael Cray gifts us with the careful art of the introduction, we see the perfect beginning to a beautiful character build.
