Although we may be impressed by the bold resolve of our heroines to face the endless cruelties of Father Time, it is the repetitive sequence of defining flashbacks that makes the current arc rather disappointing, always presenting once enthusiastic readers with tension filled stories which never seem worthwhile if they are always geared toward increasing the doubt all must face, even if we may dubiously be given a slim chance of victory, amid increasing moments of misery. While fantastic imagery and illuminating colors do depict amazing excitement, it is the underlying distress which forms the basis of the artwork that is a constant reminder of what is to come, never allowing either the audience or the faculty of Arcane Acre a chance to relish any miniscule sliver of optimism, with the sensational visuals contributing to that lingering depression. GRIMM FAIRY TALES (VOL. 2) #98 tries to juggle too many realms, too many fights, and too many magical widgets, with too little style and zero believable character voices.
