Honestly, if you haven't seen the movie, spend the money from this series on the Blu-Ray and if you've seen the movie, this issue isn't worth reading. I just think trying to cram an entire movie into 6 issues, means so much of the movie has been lost and trying to squeeze in some additional scenes in as well, just results in an average experience and ultimately feels a little pointless. I'd recommend trying out the Star Wars or Darth Vader series instead. Read Full Review

I went into this desperately hoping to finally find a visual format that I could use as a substitute for watching the film. I may want to watch Episodes I to IX some time, and omit The Last Jedi. In which case I would have dearly loved a good Star Wars comic to fill the gap between Episodes VII and IX. Alas, yet again Marvel Star Wars just takes their eye off the ball. We know they can produce a high caliber book, but too often they just toss their books at us like Luke tossing his lightsaber at some Porgs. Hang your head in shame Marvel Star Wars, you blew it. Marvel has a terrible track record with the visuals of their three Disney Star Warsadaptations, and this continues that depressing streak. The story has fun inclusions, but the visuals are horrible. The art, colors, and letters look as though they're from a first time independent publisher. This book is an injustice for Marvel andStar Warsfans. Read Full Review

The Villain

I'm sure some people feel these adaptations aren't really necessary, but fortunately this issue adds a lot of fresh thoughts to the story. He get a lot more of what is going on in Luke's head and it could offer a different perspective on the film for those who didn't really like it that much. Its off a great start.
