This issue really highlights the villainous Plunder, while showing our heroes struggling to get it together. David Pepose does an excellent job of building up the threat of the villain in this issue, well milking the emotions for our heroes. The way Pepose makes Captain Pollution seem to be unstoppable; while making our heroes the ultimate underdogs really make the reader feel for them. The emotional tie ins with characters are one of Peposes strongest attributes as a writer, and it really shines in this issue. Read Full Review

CAPTAIN PLANET #5 is all flash and no substance. It looks good at times, but the flimsy plot and rushed conclusion make it an unfulfilling read. While the fight scenes are visually engaging, the lack of any real narrative meat or character growth leaves you feeling like nothing of consequence happened. Captain Planet may have saved the day, but this comic feels like a missed opportunity. Read Full Review
