"8 Minute Murders" buzzes with theories about the dead man at the Witch's House, as the city plans the structure's long-overdue demolition. In an effort to save it, Glory and Savvy dive deeper into its history, while Lydia, our polar bear detective, seeks truths. Meanwhile, Riley turns to his mom with his trauma and the two reconnect through their art. This issue is a darker turn for the series, but the return of Dad from an absurd job in LA adds a light-hearted twist, and the introduction of Susan, the mysterious new assistant linked to past secrets, moves the plot along.
Lopez delivers stunning art throughout the issue. I continue to be in awe of the different tones and styles at play in the art and how they perfectly reflect the tone of the scene and the emotions of the characters. Read Full Review
FML #4 really builds out the story and brings us closer to the family and friends. At the same time the fourth wall breaks are pure comedic gold. Kelly Sue DeConnick does an excellent job of mixing humor in with the heart felt story. But also, she doesnt allow you to forget this book still has a mystery thriller element behind it as well.
