Originally Kong of Skull Island was solicited as a six issue mini series from July 2016 through December. As issue after issue were released the book displayed extremely high quality, both in Carlos Magno's detailed artwork and Brad Simpson's vivid colors, but also in James Asmus' super charged and ultra-violent story. This incredible level of quality in all aspects has persisted through all six issues. And back in September BOOM! Studios announced that Kong of Skull Island would henceforth be an ongoing series. Treachery, violent and poetic justice, with a monstrous, two-headed theropod thrown in for good measure. This is the strongest issue since the first one and provides a little closure to round out this arc. This was supposed to be the last issue, but apparently this is now ongoing. I thought it was a decent series, but not worth buying ongoing, so I would have preferred that this were the end.
